【Exhibition Introduction】
The Kuala Lumpur Furniture Fair (MIFF) in Malaysia is the leading furniture exhibition in Southeast Asia. It began in 1995 and is the largest and most internationally influential furniture exhibition in the ASEAN region, ranking among the top ten furniture exhibitions in the world.
As a pioneer of furniture exhibitions in this region, MIFF has become a world-renowned one-stop furniture procurement center. Its uniqueness has successfully attracted a continuous stream of buyers from all over the world every year, and it is recognized as the best furniture export exhibition in this region. Meanwhile, MIFF also serves as a showcase for international businesses to enter this region. The annual transaction volume of the exhibition amounts to as much as 650 million US dollars, reflecting its significance and influence on the furniture industry.
【Data of this session】
More than 2,000 exhibitors from over 80 countries around the world and tens of thousands of professional buyers gathered at the Kuala Lumpur International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) to jointly explore the future trends of home design and open up unlimited possibilities for cross-border cooperation.
【Diverse charm】
Malaysia has a land area of approximately 330,000 square kilometers (close to Japan or Italy) and a population of 33.4 million (as of 2023 statistics). Diverse ethnic cultures blend here - the Malays, Chinese, and Indians jointly create an inclusive and open social environment, and also infuse furniture design with the inspiration of the collision between the East and the West.
【Economic engine】
Malaysia is not only a fertile ground for design and creativity, but also a "hidden champion" in global furniture exports! According to data from Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia's furniture exports exceeded 14 billion US dollars in 2024. It has remained the world's tenth largest furniture exporter for 15 consecutive years and is also the largest furniture supply base in Southeast Asia.
The United States, Japan, Australia and the European Union are its major export markets. In recent years, the Belt and Road Initiative has further driven exports to China and the Middle East to grow by more than 20%. Malaysian furniture enterprises are renowned for their "high cost performance and fast delivery". On average, it only takes 45 days from order confirmation to sea shipment. This is attributed to the mature industrial cluster - there are over 3,000 furniture manufacturers across the country, 90% of which are local small and medium-sized enterprises, forming a complete ecological chain from raw material processing, component production to finished product assembly.
【Strategic hub】
Choosing Malaysia is not only about choosing resources and craftsmanship, but also about choosing the irreplaceable geographical advantages! As the "crossroads of Southeast Asia", Malaysia boasts Port Klang, one of the world's TOP20 cargo ports, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), which has been rated as "Asia's Best Airport" for seven consecutive years. These can quickly reach a market of 650 million people in the 10 ASEAN countries.
Through the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Malaysia's tariff reduction policies with 15 countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand have reduced the cost of furniture exports by up to 30%. The ongoing construction of the "Singapore-Malaysia High-Speed Rail" and the "East Coast Rail Link Project" will further open up land routes in the Indochinese Peninsula, enabling "Made in Malaysia" products to reach the world at a lower cost and faster speed!
